Bouwfonds Investment Management has let the former V&D department store building at Laat 143 in Alkmaar to Topshelf on a long-term basis. The premises are part of one of the company’s funds. The building is currently undergoing renovations and Topshelf will operate its department store formula here, covering 13,000 m2, from the spring of 2017.

Topshelf’s department store formula offers a wide-ranging assortment that includes women’s and men’s fashion & shoes, baby/toddler/child fashion & shoes, bags, home & living, chocolate & confectionery, magazines & books, office & school items, watches & jewellery, home fragrance & candles, pottery & flowers, decoration & Christmas items, personal care, glassware & crockery. Its stores are fitted out as fully-fledged, contemporary department stores.

Monique Korting, Head of Asset Management Commercial Real Estate Bouwfonds IM: “We are delighted to have let the whole of the former V&D building in Alkmaar to Topshelf. It is great news for the Alkmaar city centre that Topshelf is set to operate a department store here. The impressive building is ideally suited to this new store formula.”

Bouwfonds IM has let the premises directly to Topshelf. Topshelf has been advised by Retail Property Management (RPM) B.V.
